<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Pela legislação brasileira, todas as</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> têm o direito a quatro meses de</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">licença-maternidade</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">, com a possibilidade de mais dois - o que cada empresa pode ou não adotar. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Durante os quatro primeiros meses da licença, o salário é pago pelo Instituto Nacional do Seguro Social (INSS) e os outros dois pela empresa. A despesa que a empresa tiver com a</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">licença-maternidade</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> nesses dois últimos meses poderá ser descontada na hora da declaração anual do Imposto de Renda. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">As estimativas são de que cerca de 10 mil empresas no País aderiram aos seis meses de licença facultativa. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">A ministra da</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Secretaria de Políticas para as mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">,</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Eleonora Menicucci</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">, anunciou, ao assumir o posto no início deste ano, que a ampliação da</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">licença-maternidade</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> para seis meses obrigatórios é uma de suas bandeiras.</FONT><B></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Segundo os médicos pediatras, os180 dias não são um período definido aleatoriamente. Tanto que foi a Sociedade Brasileira de Pediatria quem sugeriu, em 2005, a elaboração de um projeto de lei que previa esse período. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Os seis meses correspondem ao tempo do aleitamento materno exclusivo, importante para evitar alergias e doenças como diarreia e pneumonia. </FONT></P>
