<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">O número de</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> agredidas no Brasil cresceu nas últimas décadas. Neste domingo (25), será comemorado, em todo o mundo, o dia internacional para eliminação desse tipo de violência.</FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">O agressor xinga, ameaça, bate. "Isso vai aumentando, aumentando, aumentando, até realmente chegar de fato a agressão física, aquela grave, que deixa realmente lesões, e até a morte dessa mulher", afirma a delegada Ana Cristina Melo Santiago. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Um levantamento feito com base em dados da Organização Mundial da Saúde mostra o cenário internacional da violência contra a mulher. O estudo foi feito em 84 países. O Brasil é o sétimo mais violento. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Os números da violência no país vêm crescendo. Quase 4,5 mil</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> foram mortas em 2010 - mais do que o triplo do total registrado em 1980. Nesses 30 anos, foram 92 mil assassinatos. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Em Brasília, uma organização feminista cobriu a parede de uma estação de metrô com fotos de vítimas. Casos conhecidos como o de Elisa Samudio e tantos outros anônimos. Um vestido roxo de noiva representa a morte. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">"Temos que denunciar todas as vezes que romperem com os nossos direitos. Nós somos cidadãs de direito. Temos direitos", disse a curadora da exposição Marta Baião. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Para as Nações Unidas, denunciar é fundamental. Mas muitas</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> não procuram ajuda porque têm medo, se sentem vulneráveis. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">"Uma vez que a mulher denuncia, ela deve sentir que o sistema, o poder judiciário, vai protegê-la, porque o agressor vai voltar e vai até ser mais violento", explica Rebeca Tavares, representante da ONU. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Uma mulher suportou humilhações e agressões durante oito anos. Pressionada pela família, ela denunciou o ex-companheiro. "Tudo mudou. Hoje eu me sinto uma pessoa livre. Eu vivo", conta. </FONT></P>
