<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">O Dia Internacional da Não Violência Contra a Mulher, lembrado ontem em várias partes do mundo, merece ser vir de alerta para um problema que no Brasil ganha dimensões alarmantes. Infelizmente, as medidas adotadas e os efeitos propugnados por essas ações não têm servido para desestimular a que agressores continuem perpetrando atos os mais inaceitáveis em relação a esse tipo de delito. Para se ter ideia, nos últimos anos dez anos, mais de 47 mil</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> foram assassinadas. Só em 2011, foram registradas acima de 70 mil notificações de</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">violência doméstica</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> e sexual no sistema de saúde. Somente em Fortaleza, a cada mês, a Delegacia de Defesa da Mulher registra uma média de 900 boletins de ocorrências. A maior parte se refere a ameaças e lesões corporais. Outro aspecto considerado importante é que o agressor, em mais da metade dos casos, está sob o efeito do álcool.</FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Isso acontece, sem dúvida, devido a ineficácia do poder público em conter essas situações, seja pela ausência de ações estratégicas no âmbito da prevenção, ou na ponta relativa a repressão. Nesse sentido, pecam as instâncias governamentais por não proverem mecanismos assistenciais; e instrumentos de repressão eficazes</FONT><B></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">. O Pacto Nacional pelo Enfrentamento à Violência contra as</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">, por exemplo, assinado pela</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Secretaria de Políticas para as mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Times New Roman"> da Presidência da República com todos os estados brasileiros, ainda não conseguiu fazer com que aqueles entes da Federação dirijam recursos especialmente para a solução desse grave problema.</FONT><B></B></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">O resultado tem sido a completa omissão no tratamento dessa questão, que se é séria em áreas urbanas, agrava-se quando se verifica a condição de indígenas e rurais que chegam a sofrer violência dentro de suas próprias comunidades.</FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Lamenta-se, portanto, que o Brasil ainda tenha que conviver com tal descaso, em período no qual temos obtido tantos avanços nas áreas social e econômica.</FONT></P>
