<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial">A polícia da Índia deteve seis homens suspeitos de participar de um novo caso de estupro coletivo de uma mulher em um ônibus no país, informou à</FONT><B></B><I></I><I></I><I></I><I><FONT FACE="Arial">Agência Efe</FONT></I><B></B><FONT FACE="Arial"> uma fonte oficial. Um delegado da polícia do distrito de Gurdaspur, Janjit Singh, afirmou que os investigadores também estão perto de deter o sétimo acusado de violentar a mulher.</FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial">A detenção mais recente aconteceu ontem à noite e se junta às outras cinco, ocorridas poucas horas depois do crime, cometido na noite da última sexta-feira. A vítima voltava para casa em um ônibus após visitar a casa de seus pais na região de Punjab, no norte da Índia. De acordo com o relato da vítima, citado pela imprensa local, o motorista do veículo e outro funcionário da companhia de transporte não fizeram uma parada prevista, e o ônibus seguiu para um local fora da rota, onde pegou outros cinco homens. Após estuprarem a mulher, os acusados a deixaram perto de sua casa, na cidade de Ghukla. O motorista está entre os suspeitos.</FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial">Este caso ocorreu em um momento de grande comoção da opinião pública do país asiático devido a outro semelhante ocorrido com uma jovem estudante, que morreu há duas semanas após ter sido estuprada por seis homens quando viajava em um ônibus em Nova Délhi. O Escritório Nacional de Registro de Crimes revelou em 2011 que a cada 20 minutos uma mulher é estuprada na Índia, mas que em apenas um de cada quatro casos o criminoso é condenado, devido, segundo os analistas, à corrupção de políciais.</FONT></P>
