<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial">ABR - Um estudo desenvolvido pelo Instituto de Infectologia Emílio Ribas, em São Paulo, mostrou que 26% das</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Arial">mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Arial"> com o vírus HIV sofrem de depressão. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial">O principal motivo apontado pelas</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Arial">mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Arial"> foi a HENRY MILLEO / AG. NOT. GAZETA DO POVO / AE falta de suporte afetivo de parentes e amigos. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial">O estudo ouviu 120</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Arial">mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Arial"> com</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Arial">aids</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Arial">, de 35 a 50 anos de idade. Do total, 60% disseram ter tido algum quadro de depressão logo após terem recebido o diagnóstico da doença. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial">"Essa prevalência [de depressão entre</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Arial">mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Arial"> com HIV] é cerca de duas vezes maior que a encontrada na população em geral. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial">Isso mostra o quanto a infecção por HIV é um fator associado à depressão e o quanto essa população é vulnerável, precisando de uma atenção especial para esse aspecto da saúde mental", disse a psiquiatra Valéria Mello, autora do estudo. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial">"O fato de estarem com HIV e de saberem que estão com a doença já é um fator de estresse muito grande. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial">E tem também o fato de já terem adoecido. A maioria das</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Arial">mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Arial"> que estava deprimida já tinha ficado doente", explicou Valéria. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial">A maioria das</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Arial">mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Arial">, de acordo com Valéria, revelou ter um relacionamento estável. E mais da metade delas afirmou ter sido contaminada com HIV pelo cônjuge. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial">Segundo a psiquiatra, que trabalha há mais de dez anos na área, muitas</FONT><B> <FONT FACE="Arial">mulheres</FONT></B><FONT FACE="Arial"> com HIV ainda sofrem preconceito, embora o tratamento tenha avançado. "A parte da saúde mental dessas pessoas é um problema enorme. </FONT></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial">Existe ainda muito preconceito, tem o fato das pessoas ainda precisarem tomar remédios, existem as dificuldades de relacionamento afetivo. São vários problemas que as pessoas que vivem com essa doença vão enfrentando", disse a psiquiatra. </FONT></P>
